JOB TITLE: Lead Database Administrator
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

REPORTS TO: Manager, Cloud Engineering
SUMMARY:
The Cloud Systems Engineering Team is responsible for support and maintenance of all system components within the outsourced IT environment. The manager of this team will oversee and support maintenance on all servers including the administration of multiple Microsoft Active Directory environments, management of email users/groups within Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010, and administer group security and share privileges. An ideal candidate will be a proven leader with management or team leadership experience. This role is designed as a working manager and is intended to be competent in most technical areas with oversight and responsibility for day to day operations reporting directly to the Direct of Cloud Engineering.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Assist in designing database environment for hosting client systems.
Perform extensive database programming using T-SQL, SQL Enterprise Manager and other SQL server utilities.
Troubleshoot performance problems in the hosted environments and resolve
Develop procedures using SSIS to move data from multi-sources.
Identify potential performance and process improvements.
Provide SQL / database support to the application developers.
Manage the databases in production, development and QA environments.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required; equivalent experience may be considered
Minimum 6-7 years' experience in database administration
Experience with SQL 2005, SQL 2008 and SQL 2008R2
Experience with Microsoft DPM for SQL Server backup/replication
Experience with SQL Clustering
Experience with VMWare Virtual Server Environments
Application programming and experience with scripting languages like VBScripting are a plus
Ability to work effectively within team environment
Demonstrated project management skills
Ability to work overtime when necessary

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Client Server Deployment and Management
Responds to incidents to avoid system outages or restore availability to meet service level objectives and update customer facing trouble tickets
Performs problem identification, problem resolution, and root cause analysis.
Install server operating system software, front-end and back-end server components, and production application services according to defined requirements and data center operation standards
Deploy and maintain a large Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) environment across multiple domains and clients
Develop and maintain documentation including server build docs, configuration standards, and infrastructure architecture drawings
Responsible for managing patching, upgrades, and critical system updates during client approved maintenance windows using Windows Server Update System (WSUS)
Ability to troubleshoot high-level network related issues before escalating to a dedicate network resource
Manage, provide guidance, and perform yearly reviews for the India Cloud Engineering team
Maintain and administer a large Exchange 2003, 2007, and 2010 environments
Maintain VMWARE cluster capacity and HA services
Maintain and administer Microsoft FOPE, BPOS, and Office 365
Track time and tasks in a client facing ticketing system
Windows Active Directory deployment and management (Machines, Users, OU)
DNS (Internal and External) Management including MX and SPF records
Maintain SSL certificates across servers and load balancing appliances
Performance & Capacity Management
Provide requirements to the systems monitoring group for metrics, alerts and escalations
Will serve as a point of escalation for system problems that are escalated by customer or RealPage NOC
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Demonstrated successful leadership skills in program execution and people management
Minimum 4 years supervisory experience; demonstrated ability to lead and motivate
At least 8+ years of experience supporting an Active Directory and Exchange email environment
Experience in a Windows Server 2003 - 2008 R2
Experience with VMWare/ESX, building servers in a virtual environment
Experienced deploying and maintaining a large MS SCOM environment
Proficient creating detailed system and network diagrams using Microsoft Visio
Experience with BES and ActiveSync
Experience with load balancing appliance such as F5 BigIP or Citrix NetScaler
Strong understanding of disaster recovery, backup and restoration procedures
PowerShell scripting experience.
Experience with SAN storage
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Must demonstrate excellent customer services skills and the ability to communicate with individuals of all levels internal and external to the organization
Flexible to work overtime as required; some overnight work may be required
Able to sit or stand for extended periods
Able to stoop and lift material or equipment up to 50 pounds overhead
Bachelor's degree preferred
