MS SQL Server  DBA Level II           Description:   Core Skills/Technologies:      Strong experience in performance tuning of applications and capacity planning. Strong Experience in writing scripts  / programs specific to SQL server DBA  activity Working knowledge of supporting SQL SSIS and reporting package.  Thorough understanding of High Availability Technology using database clustering and database mirroring. Working experience with Sybase and Oracle database environments Knowledge of ETL technologies, preferably Informatica Knowledge of Reporting technologies, preferably IBM Cognos Experience in supporting IT operations using an onsite/offshore delivery model  Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations. Ability to write and maintain technical documentation and procedures Good understanding of the Software development lifecycle Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently as well as in collaboration with a team Ability to take initiative and work without supervision. Ability to work as a effective team member in a multicultural environment is must Should have excellent interpersonal skill as well as oral and written communication skill   Other Skills    4-year Bachelor s degree preferably in Math, Computer Science or Engineering. Master s degree preferred Minimum of 6 years of SQ server database administration, the majority of which should be in database administration in a large scale operation Certification in SQL Server Database Administration a plus Install, configure and maintain database instances / servers Enhance database performance by query and process optimization Maintain integrity of database by having proper backup and recovery processes Apply database changes according to change management procedures Carry out regular capacity planning activities Database refresh and cloning Perform Database Backup and Restore activities in close coordination with CLIENT's Backup team Participate in security audits and compliance initiatives and ensure the database environment is fully compliant with CLIENT security policies and internal controls. Provide 24/7 incident response for CLIENT's production environment thru established escalation processes Perform R & D activities and manage Infrastructure technical projects. Should be flexible to work in shifts and week ends on need basis in close co-ordination with onsite and offshore team as well as with end users across the globe, in a multi vendor / service provider environment. Creation and maintenance of technical documents as per standards followed in CLIENT   Experience:  3-6 yrs Location: Chennai
